Catching a Halibut

Students use halibut they have created to ‘catch the halibut’. They then measure and weigh each halibut.

Materials

Magnetic fishing pole (Pike fishing kit)
Scale (Steam-bath kit)
Yard stick (NYO kit)
Chart with weight and height columns.
Place paper clips around each halibut for magnetizing various sizes of halibut students have made

Halibut cut in chunks
Pot with water
Berries
Crisco
Sugar
Bowl
Spoon
