Making a Triangle

Students review patterns, learn the properties of a triangle and how to make a triangle.

Materials

• Magnetic shapes (in kit)
• White board with parka outline
• Parka photo or a real parka brought from the classroom
• Scissors
• Lined paper (or smaller easy to cut paper for students)
• Sand Table
• Multiple shapes — square, triangle, rectangle, circle
• Cups labeled ‘circle’, ‘square’, ‘triangle’, ‘Rectangle’
• Book with simple shapes for drawings
